I can get PSUs of a smaller size with a similar power output for less than half the price from China and I doubt there is much quality difference either, these PSUs aren’t exactly the golden standard but they’re all I’ve got. I’m basically using this for research and development at the moment. Mivrochip device still doesn’t work. I upgrade and I have now the example working.
After looking through a lot of sources and examples, I was able to come up with what I think is the right way to do it for at least Windows 7: I’m starting to understand the driver files better now though. In the device manager I get the device come up ysb “USB Input Device” with error code 10 which apparently means that Windows can’t start the device.
That seems suspicious to me. Windows came back to me and said that it found the pre-existing driver, “usb. Once selected, you will see an advanced startup section appear on the right hand side.

Couldn’t start the USB device. I think it probably microchup have a driver in the MS database since it immediately installs under W7 with no user intervention. I apologise for not replying to the thread for so long. How else do they get you to buy more hardware?

Did it come from the system manufacturer’s webiste? I have a feeling it might be firmware on the device which can be flashed. Why does my PIC32 run slower than expected? I think it may install the same driver under Windows 8 but for some reason, it doesn’t work.
Basically, this works perfectly under Windows 7. Once your Computer has rebooted you will need to choose the Troubleshoot option. They like to give me brief responses and ignore the fact it doesn’t work and it’s on them.
I will say though, that mine seems to be a lot more bare-bones, so maybe there’s something in the Microchip files that’s conflicting with micrlchip Windows 8 is trying to do.
After restarting, you should be able to install the drivers as normal When windows loads the driver it will create a COM device for the Machine.
